The underwater world has long captured human imagination, and in recent years, it has begun to capture human investment in earnest.
The rapid growth of underwater tourism is creating extraordinary demand for small, capable, crewed submersibles that can safely and comfortably bring passengers beneath the surface. At the same time, the inspection and maintenance of offshore underwater structures and the scientific study of marine habitats require ever more precise, reliable, and cost-effective subsea vehicles.
Here we meet both demands. The project proposes the construction of a pilot unit of a fully electric, lightweight, small-dimension submersible vehicle designed for dual use: underwater tourism and leisure on one hand, and inspection, maintenance, and marine habitat research on the other. The vehicle is engineered to operate across a spectrum of modes, giving operators the flexibility to match the platform to the mission.
By advancing the development of a highly innovative, knowledge-intensive, and technology-driven product with clear export potential, the project supports the strategic reorientation of Portuguese industry toward higher value-added goods and services.

We are developing the project's navigation architecture, which is designed to provide reliable positioning data regardless of the operating environment.
Continuous geo-location of the vehicle enables precise mapping of scientific data collected during research missions, ensures safe recovery in emergency scenarios, and underpins the vehicle's autonomous and semi-autonomous operating modes, which distinguish it from conventional crewed submersibles.
By automating complex control tasks, the submersible vehicle becomes accessible to a far broader range of operators, whether they are professional inspection technicians, scientific researchers, or first-time underwater tourism passengers.
