IEoT
About the *project.*
The shift from local to virtual data storage, computation, network management, applications, and workspaces has changed how we use digital services, bringing clear benefits over traditional systems, such as easier management, universal availability, and reduced hardware requirements. We are witnessing a shift from separate person-to-person, person-to-machine, and machine-to-machine (IEoT) computing to Internet of Everything (IoE) computing.
The next step in the evolution of wireless communication technologies is the shift toward 6th generation networks. This transition will boost network sharing in cities and indoor spaces. It will also drive the local computing paradigm. In today's cloud systems, data centers handle all data processing and decision-making logic. This is not optimal for performance, efficiency, reliability, security, or privacy.
Key *objectives.*
Elevate edge computing
This project will take edge computing to a new level by introducing a third local tier in addition to the data center and MEC tiers. We will utilize artificial intelligence to unleash the full potential of each Edge architectural tier to meet different application requirements. This project focuses on developing an intelligent three-tier Edge IEoT architecture to enable novel services around business areas such as smart transportation, Industry 4.0, and entertainment.
